How to care for the skin better



1. Determine your Dosha: Ayurveda is based on the principles of balancing the three Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kaph).

2. Cleansing: Ayurvedic cleansing is important before beginning your beauty routine as it helps to remove impurities from your skin. Use a mild, herbal cleanser that suits your Dosha. For Vata skin, go for a cream-baseda). Determine which Dosha predominates in your body by taking an Ayurvedic quiz or consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner.


2. Cleansing: Use a gentle, natural cleanser that is appropriate for your Dosha. Use lukewarm water to wash your face, and then pat it dry gently.


3. Exfoliation: Use a gentle exfoliating scrub to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. Massage it into your skin with your fingertips in circular motions, then rinse thoroughly and pat dry.


4. Facial steam: Boil water in a pot, remove from heat, and place your face over the pot while covered with a towel for 5-10 minutes. This will open pores on your face.


5. Mud Mask: Apply a mud mask that is appropriate for your Dosha, leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.


6. Toning: Apply a natural, alcohol-free toner to help remove residual dirt and balance your skin's pH.


7. Moisturizing: Apply a light and natural moisturizer that is appropriate for your Dosha. Massaging it in circular motions to improve blood circulation.


8. Sun Protection: Apply a natural sunscreen with at least SPF 30 for protection against the sun's harmful rays.


9. Drink lots of herbal teas like Chamomile, Rosemary, Ginger or Green tea to detoxify the body and promote the glow on the skin.


10. Deep breathing: Practice deep breathing to release stress and tension, which can affect your skin health. Take deep breaths for 5-10 minutes daily.
